Online ESG Training Has Officially Started on Moodle!
As part of the companiESGuide project, we are pleased to announce the launch of our online ESG training programme, now available through the Moodle learning platform. This marks an important step in providing accessible, structured and practice-oriented education to support companies in aligning their business operations with sustainability requirements and ESG reporting obligations.
The companiESGuide programme is built around an innovative digital product that combines:
- an online self-assessment tool for evaluating business alignment with sustainability principles,
- a CSRD-compliant ESG reporting template, and
- a 40-hour online training programme focused on sustainable business practices and non-financial reporting.
About the ESG Training Programme
The ESG training programme has been developed to equip participants with practical knowledge and actionable skills required to implement ESG principles and comply with reporting obligations under the CSRD Directive and ESRS standards. The programme is structured into five thematic modules, covering key topics such as:
- the ESG regulatory framework and reporting requirements,
- the ESG reporting process and materiality assessment,
- sustainable procurement and supply chain management,
- sustainability project management, and
- communication of ESG performance and results.
Delivered through Moodle, the programme allows participants to learn at their own pace, while combining theoretical foundations with a strong hands-on approach.
Learning Experience and Practical Focus
The training integrates real-life business examples, interactive assignments and guided exercises, enabling participants to work on their own organisational context. With continuous mentor support, participants develop a practical ESG Reporting Plan, including defined processes, key indicators, internal procedures and a draft structure of an ESG report.
This approach enables companies to establish efficient systems for data collection and validation, identify relevant ESG indicators and prepare transparent, credible and EU-aligned ESG reports.
Interactive Workshops: Managing the ESG Reporting Process
In addition to online learning materials, the programme includes interactive workshops titled “ESG Reporting Manager in Business Organisations”, designed for participants who wish to apply their knowledge in practice and develop concrete tools for implementing ESG systems within their organisations.
The workshops focus on teamwork, case studies and mentor-led discussions, providing a collaborative learning environment.
Who Is the Programme For?
The ESG training and workshops are intended for:
- company employees involved in ESG data collection, analysis and reporting, particularly in finance, HR, environmental management, sustainability, procurement and communications;
- managers and team leaders responsible for coordinating ESG reporting processes and internal workflows;
- consultants, accountants, auditors and external advisors supporting ESG reporting and compliance;
- supply chain partners required to provide ESG data to larger reporting entities;
- entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses seeking to develop sustainable business strategies and understand the value of ESG for growth, reputation and market access.
Programme Delivery (40 Hours)
The “Managing the ESG Reporting Process” programme is delivered in a hybrid learning format, combining online and interactive elements to ensure flexibility and practical application.
The programme includes:
- pre-recorded video lessons and learning materials available on Moodle (asynchronous learning),
- interactive exercises, quizzes and assignments with mentor feedback,
- live online sessions via digital platforms (Teams / Zoom),
- practical workshops and case studies, held online or in person,
- mentored individual and group work on a mini-project: ESG Reporting Plan.
